How To Make Soap on a Rope
Tab end dangling
Proper positioning
- Fit the two 3D mold halves together and secure with the two rubber bands as shown. Stand each mold on end with the funnels facing up.
- Position the soap rope as shown. (The heat-sealed end of the rope should reach halfway to the center of the bar.) To keep the soap rope clean, we suggest letting the heat-sealed end of the rope dangle on the outside of the mold (top picture) until the mold has been filled, but if you prefer, you can position the rope inside the mold (bottom picture) before you fill the mold.
- Fill the mold cavity until soap can be seen in the funnel and tap the mold on a hard surface to eliminate any trapped air. (If necessary, refill the funnel.)
- If you left the end dangling as we suggested, now is the time to push the heat-sealed end of the rope through the funnel into the mold cavity. (A chopstick or plastic knitting needle works great!)
- Center the rope in the funnel opening and tap the mold again to level out the soap.
- When the soap is ready for unmolding, remove the rubber bands and separate the mold halves. Trim off any excess soap.
