2.2 oz of lye (62g)
5 oz water (milk or cream would make this even gentler!)
dissolve 1/2 teaspoon white sugar, 1/2 teaspoon sea salt into the water
3 oz lard
3 oz coconut oil
7 oz peanut oil (if you’re allergic to peanut, substitute olive - same SAP)
3 oz avocado oil
1 ripe avocado
Add at trace ingredients:
Cut avocado in half. Scrape out pulp into a bowl. Add the 3 oz avocado oil to pulp. Mash with a fork and then use a stick blender in it (or a food processor, or a blender). To this green mush, add:
1 tsp rosemary powder
1 tablespoon patchouli
1 tablespoon rose geranium
1 tablespoon castor oil
Once again, make sure the green mush is well blended!
Add this at heavy trace. Make sure the raw soap stays at or reaches heavy trace again and pour. Insulate for 24 hours.
Cure time: 4 weeks.
It makes a dark greeny-brown soap with dark brown flecks which will harden up nicely. Soft, creamy dense lather. The rose geranium dominates the scent and lasts and lasts. This one leaves my skin soft and smooth. Suits any skin type. The shelf life should be at least 6 months (more likely a year - but that’s a guess).
