Bonnie's Vaseline Soap Recipe

Here is a really easy small recipe that makes wonderful silky soap with a mild lather! It uses liquid measures and turns out great every time. It makes about 1 1/2 lbs., or about 6-9 individually poured molds.

1 pound lard
1/2 c. olive oil
2 level T vaseline

1 c. water
1 level 1/4 c. lye
2 level T lye

Mix at about 110° and add 2-3 T fragrance at trace. Allow to sit in molds 2 days before removing, and cure for 4 weeks. The vaseline leaves your skin silky smooth. I call this one a shower bar and it is one of my best sellers. For this size batch, I use 1/2 chip of color for a pastel shade.
