Here is my goatsmilk recipe. After trying 2 others from fellow soapers, I finally decided to come up with my own... since I wasn’t quite satisfied with how they turned out. This one I made just a week ago... and already it is sudsing nicely and leaving my skin smooth. Not bad for being at its uncured state! :0)
4 oz. cocoa butter
10 oz. shortening
12 oz. olive oil
10 oz. Palm Kernel oil
2 oz. castor oil
2 oz. shea butter
8 oz. water
5.25 oz. lye
2 1/2 tsp. sugar (add into the water with your lye)
7 oz. cold goatsmilk (previously frozen and thawed)
2 1/2 Tbs. fo
Again, I used about 110-115 degree temps. I added the goatsmilk at thin trace. Superfat with shea and castor oil. I colored this with red oxide (I added a spicy fragrance). I have left them in their "logs" (I used downspout) and today I went and sliced a sample bar for a friend and it cut beautifully. By the way, the reason for the seemingly higher percentage of superfats is because I was purposely trying to aim for an extremely gentle bar that still lathered well. It looks like I did it! Hooray!!
