Soap Making Question For Today

To answer this question, or to ask one of your own soap making related questions, respond here. We'll post your questions and responses.

"My questions are for people who make soap to sell. Is there any shape or size of soap bar that sells more readily than others, and conversely, is there a size or shape that you find to be less popular to your customers. I'm wondering about the round or square shapes and if they sell as well as rectangles. I have been using my new molds and making big hefty six ounce bars, which I personally like better than the smaller bars but I will naturally have to charge more for these and wonder if the public has a certain limit they will pay for a bar of soap. Is the current rule of thumb still about a dollar per ounce for cold process soap. Oh, one more question. What sells your soap: Is it the scent, the fancy looking bars, or the natural ingredients or a mix of all of those." --D.M.
